Kryvyi Rih has hosted a charity race to remember the defenders of Ukraine. 25 young professionals of Northern GOK took part in the race. The event became part of the Unite to Win city marathon.
In total, 75 residents of the Ternivskyi district participated in the event. Students and residents of the the Ternivskyi district took part in the race alongside the employees of Northern GOK.
"I ran the distance in memory of a friend of my youth who died a few days before the race, on 27 March. It was that small thing I could do to honour him and other countrymen who died in the war. To thank their families. To draw attention to others. It is our duty to remember and honour the heroes. Yes, the distance is symbolic – 1300 metres – but the main thing here is to come together with colleagues and other people to honour the heroes. Those guys who made the ultimate sacrifice defending Ukraine's independence. I hope and believe that many of our soldiers, my colleagues, acquaintances and friends, will return home victorious and will be able to join other running marathons, but this time to promote a healthy lifestyle," said Oleksandr KASIAN, head of the road transport shop at Northern GOK.
The organisers also set up several interesting locations for participants and guests of the event: an exhibition of war trophies, area for photography, and arts space. Long-serving employees of Northern GOK also made their contribution by setting up a space for weaving camouflage nets. For a few hours, everyone could join the process, after which the nets were handed over to the soldiers of the 17th Kryvyi Rih Separate Tank Brigade named after Konstiantyn Pestushko.
