Over 200 buggies made of Metinvest steel for defenders of Ukraine

Ukrainian border guards have received five buggies manufactured by the Operational Command South and the NGO "Buggies for the Armed Forces". The steel products for the vehicles were donated by Metinvest-SMC as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front defence initiative.Metinvest-SMC began supplying its products for mobile buggy vehicles in early 2023. To date, more than 200 vehicles have been produced for the Armed Forces of Ukraine using the company’s steel. Recently, another batch was delivered to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.FIGUREOver the two years of the project's existence, Metinvest-SMC has supplied approximately 150 tonnes of steel for the production of 200 buggies.These vehicles are invaluable in combat situations. Metinvest Named as Largest Taxpayer in Ukraine’s Steel Industry in 2024

A rating by the NV publication has named Metinvest Group as the largest taxpayer in Ukraine’s steel industry in 2024, when it paid UAH19.8 billion in taxes to budgets of all levels in the country.The publication asked more than 170 private companies and banks how much tax they paid to budgets of all levels in 2024, and it compiled the rating based on the information received.According to the survey, nearly 80 of Ukraine’s largest private companies and banks paid a combined UAH466.5 billion in taxes to the state and local budgets last year.Philip Morris was the largest private taxpayer in Ukraine, paying UAH52.2 billion to budgets of various levels. DTEK came second with UAH41 billion, while BAT completed the top three with UAH38 billion.In the steel industry, after Metinvest, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih ranked second in terms of taxes paid, contributing UAH6.6 billion. Metinvest to Raise Salaries at Ukrainian Manufacturing and Service Enterprises From 1 April

Metinvest is to increase salaries for employees of its manufacturing and repair enterprises in Ukraine from 1 April. The Group will apply a differentiated approach to the pay revisions: base salaries will rise by up to 20% depending on employee category. The decision was made amid a challenging financial situation at Metinvest. In 2024, the Group’s net loss rose six-fold year-on-year to US$1.152 billion. Metinvest has suspended operations at Pokrovske Coal given the approaching front line and threat to employees’ lives, while last summer the Group had to idle Inhulets Iron Ore because of unprofitable production. When revising salaries, Metinvest has taken into account the overall situation on the labour market, the national average wage, the competitiveness of employees’ pay, the shortage of professions, the inflation rate and staff turnover.
