Psychologists from Oplich HUB held an interesting event for Zaporizhzhia residents.
Love should bring happiness, not depressing feelings. And it is important for each of us to understand when relationships become destructive or disruptive. This issue was discussed at the training "Love or Fear?" at Oplich HUB.
Oplich HUB was established by the UN Global Compact in Ukraine as part of the Mental Help project and with the support of Metinvest Group's humanitarian initiative Saving Lives in response to an internal demand from society to take care of mental health.
"Often, it is relationships – with a partner, parents, relatives - that become a kind of trigger, causing emotional discomfort. And our goal with these trainings is to give people as much information as possible about what psychological abuse is, how to recognise it, and how to get out of relationships that become destructive. So that they take care of themselves and their well-being – physical and mental – and are able to identify the source of problems. And we see that people who visit our hub on a regular basis are already taking better care of themselves and finding new strength to be happy," said Natalia POPOVA, a psychologist and art therapist at the Oplich HUB community centre.
The participants of the training were able not only to talk about all their concerns, but also to work through them with the help of art therapy. It is one of the most effective psychological tools that allows you to de-stress, analyse your thoughts and emotions. The HUB's visitors like these classes because they give the desired result. In particular, Svitlana has become a regular guest of Oplich HUB.
"At first, I came to the centre only for art therapy, but later I signed up for yoga. I attend the trainings that are organised at the hub. So every day is fully occupied. However, I see the result. I reconsidered the quality of my life and my attitude to myself in general. I realised that life is wonderful and you need to realise yourself regardless of your age. I am very grateful to the Oplich HUB specialists for these changes," Svitlana says.
By the way, the community centre regularly holds free trainings and master classes for Zaporizhzhia residents and IDPs, both adults and children. You just need to make an appointment in advance by calling +38 (066) 853 78 98. The hub is located at: 17, Nezalezhnoyi Ukrainy Street.
