Good evening, we are from Metinvest! First of all, we are still working. We also continue to do everything we can to support victory.
On all fronts: humanitarian aid, support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and territorial defence forces and, of course, production. I will break down what we are doing and how geographically. As always, this is #lots_of_text, but it is worth reading, as well as sharing. Information support and raising awareness are needed more than ever.
Zaporizhia
HUMANITARIAN CONVEYOR AND CAUTIOUS OPTIMISM
We have created a true conveyor for receiving, processing and distributing humanitarian aid. Recently, the first batch of medicines worth more than ₴30 million has been delivered to the humanitarian hub.
Also last week, the Group transferred $500,000 for the purchase of protective equipment and first-aid kits for the territorial defence forces of Zaporizhia.
The first 1,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid have passed through the Metinvest Humanitarian Mission Coordination Centre.
Zaporizhstal and other Group enterprises in Zaporizhia are in conservation mode. We maintain equipment to quickly resume its operation, and the railway workers are always busy, by the way.
There is also reason for cautious optimism. The Group is considering the possibility of launching a cold-rolling shop at Zaporizhstal. However, logistics is a very important issue today: ports are closed and there is no possibility to use traditional routes to deliver products to customers. Mariupol
UKRAINIAN
Unfortunately, it is impossible to arrange an organised evacuation. The Russian military has done everything it can to make it impossible to leave the city – that is, in the direction of Ukraine. They are now blocking the exit not only from the city, but also further along the route to Zaporizhia. We have arranged evacuation by buses from the suburbs of Berdyansk and continue to do so at every opportunity.
The city, despite the gradual inhumane destruction, remains Ukrainian, as do its enterprises. We have done everything necessary to prevent industrial accidents. We will only resume operations in Ukraine
We are taking in refugees and evacuees from Mariupol. Tonight, in Zaporizhia, we met buses from Berdyansk. In total, Metinvest has organised temporary shelter for more than more than 6,000 people in the cities where it operates
At a recent event in Brussels, Ivan Goltvenko, director of personnel and administration at Azovstal, spoke via video link about how people escaped from the city, how he got himself and his parents out from under the siege, and how we are now helping and receiving people in Zaporizhia. It is important not only to get maximum coverage of Russia’s crimes; it is also necessary to create international pressure to save the Mariupol residents who still remain in the city

DIFFICULT
Russian troops are shelling the city. Shells hit the plant, we are recovering and were forced to suspend the production process. We are preserving Avdiivka Coke and are maintaining defence.

Kryvyi Rih
THE ENEMY IS NEAR, BUT WE ARE WORKIN

Bulldozer operators at mining and transport shop no. 1 of Northern GOK serve 37 km of roads of the Pervomaisky open pit mine – they build, repair and clean up the mining faces.
In wartime conditions, Southern GOK operates stably: each employee works hard to make this happen.

WE ARE RAISING THE ORE TO THE SURFACE
For a month, the miners of Metinvest’s Pokrovske Coal have been working in wartime conditions and have not stopped mining the coal. They are now working five longwalls and are steps away from commissioning another one. Our colleagues discuss what life is like at the company now and how the team is working
We understand that success depends on the continuation of our daily duties. So, at the site of pumping stations, compressor stations and crane areas of Pokrovske Coal, they ensure 24/7 operations of the business unit.
Furthermore, we are continuing to improve, step-by-step. For example, the driver of an electric locomotive at the mine transport site has developed a special device to inform workers about the approach of a diesel locomotive – working safely is always a priority.

Kamianske
STEEL + AID
The steelmakers of Kamet Steel ensure stable 24/7 operations of equipment and maintain output of key products.
We work and implement measures to improve technological processes. We are repairing equipment according to plan and continue working to replace pouring crane no. 12 at the basic oxygen furnace shop.
We are also delivering humanitarian aid in several directions. Recently, a humanitarian shipment with food and essential items arrived. Volunteers of the company’s youth organization created a place for recreation with children at the hub.
We are looking forward to receiving people who escaped Mariupol. We are providing opportunities for temporary housing and employment at the enterprise. Now there are more than 150 such vacancies. As usual, it is better to hear directly from Kamet Steel CEO Dmytro Lyppa.
