National Guardsmen in Zaporizhzhia received protective gear from Metinvest

Metinvest Group, as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative, is helping Zaporizhzhia National Guard units to counter invasion of the enemy.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Metinvest Group has launched a humanitarian front covering several areas at once: support of medical workers, rehabilitation of internally displaced persons, and provision of food. In addition, as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative, the company provides comprehensive and systematic assistance to soldiers by supplying them with protective gear, drones, thermal imagers, vehicles, special equipment, etc.

One of the main areas of activities is the provision of personal protective equipment to Ukrainian soldiers. In particular, the company provides bulletproof vests and helmets to its employees mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other soldiers defending Ukraine. The gear continues to be delivered to the soldiers.

Metinvest has been providing assistance to Ukrainian defenders since the first days of the war. Recently, another batch of bulletproof vests was delivered to Zaporizhzhia National Guardsmen. Three thousand pieces of gear will protect the soldiers in the Zaporizhzhia sector.

– When military personnel are protected, they perform their tasks of defending our country much better. This armor gear will go to the newly formed units that will continue to liberate our country to the borders of the 1991 year, - Andriy BELIAEV, commander of the Zaporizhzhia Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, said.

The bulletproof vests, which the National Guardsmen received, are certified, have 4+ protection class and can be able to stop 5.45 and 7.62 gauges. The soldiers told us how this gear differs from others.

– If we compare this bulletproof vest with the ones we had at the beginning, that one was much heavier. Of course, it was less maneuverable in combat. This vest is quite light, easy to move around in, and can be easily removed in case of emergency. Therefore, on behalf of myself and my friends and brothers, I thank Metinvest for providing protection to our soldiers," a soldier of the National Guard of Ukraine with the call sign Uchitel said.

Metinvest Group believes that the saved life of one soldier means hundreds or even thousands of saved lives of Ukrainian civilians. Therefore, it is an honor for the company to support the army.

– We will continue to help the army of Ukraine in the future. We are not stopping, so all other units - the National Guard, the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine - will receive systematic assistance from Metinvest as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative, - Olexander MYRONENKO, Chief Operating Officer of Metinvest Group, said.
