Ukrainian military receives drones from Metinvest Group

Rinat Akhmetov and Vadym Novynskyi’s Metinvest Group has purchased DJI Air 2S Fly More Combo and DJI Air Mavic 3 Fly More Combo drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and transferred them to the east of the country. The nearly two dozen drones will strengthen the military’s tactical advantage. The Group has also donated night vision devices and thermal imagers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A few days ago, during the transfer of a batch of 2,700 armoured vests and helmets in the Kyiv region, the spokesperson of the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Matviyenko, noted that tactical equipment would also be delivered as part of the ongoing cooperation. The military units defending the Donetsk and Luhansk regions requested the equipment. The Group has delivered on this promise: the equipment is already helping our defenders to fight for victory on the front line.

“The Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, General Pavlyuk, requested assistance with this matter from the business community – Rinat Akhmetov’s Metinvest Group responded very quickly to this. A few days later, drones, thermal imagers and night vision devices were purchased. Now we are transferring them to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Tomorrow morning, the devices will already be in combat positions,” said Oleh Matviyenko.

The Group regularly provides comprehensive assistance to the military. Rinat Akhmetov and Vadym Novynskyi’s Metinvest Group will donate more than 100,000 armoured vests to the military free of charge. This covers a significant part of the military’s needs, including for employees of the Group who have been mobilised to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Metinvest has also purchased 1,100 thermal imagers and more than 8,100 helmets.
