The arrangement of the rehabilitation department at Pokrovsk Clinical Hospital for Intensive Care began last year. The hospital purchased the necessary equipment, and Metinvest Group undertook a large amount of repair work and the complete restoration of the old building.
The department is located on the second floor, where the administrative block used to be. It is expected that there will be several dozen different offices and four large wards. Everything has been renovated: walls, ceilings and floors.
– Only the outer walls remained of the old building structures, – Maksym LOBYNTSEV, director of New Heat Technologies LLC, said. – New walls and ceilings were erected, the heating system, water supply, sewage system, electricity, lighting and much more were replaced. Due to the fact that the floor has wooden joists, it was impossible to fill it with concrete. Therefore, it was decided to renovate all wooden structures and cover them with medical linoleum.
The arrangement of such a department in Pokrovsk is a matter of time. There is a great demand for such medical services. Many wounded people are brought to the city, the number of stroke and heart attack patients is increasing, and people also need quality rehabilitation after fractures and complex injuries in a separate department.
– This department will have twenty beds where patients will undergo rehabilitation sessions after discharge from the neurological and trauma units, – Anna TSVETOVA, head of the emergency department at Pokrovsk Hospital, says. – We will also open offices of speech therapist and psychologist with new equipment for patients to undergo treatment.
In general, Metinvest Group has a long history of support for Pokrovsk Hospital. The company systematically allocates funds for reconstruction and purchase of equipment.

With the support of Metinvest, the obstetrics department has been fully renovated, the neurology department has been modernised, and the rehabilitation department is next in line.
"We are very grateful to Metinvest Group for its assistance," said Margaryta IDRISOVA, Deputy Head of the Pokrovsk City Military Administration. "We can see that the renovation of the rehabilitation department has already been completed. We are filling it with furniture and equipment. Soon it will be put into operation and receive its first patients."
Metinvest's support does not end there. Future hospital development projects are in the pipeline. Among the immediate needs is the restoration of the hospital's old elevator, as it is the only transportation artery for people who are seriously ill. Plans are afoot to restore the hospital's surgical unit and to convert the basement of the main building into a shelter. A mental health programme is also being developed, in particular for doctors whose workload is particularly intense now.

"We faced many challenges during the renovation work. First of all, they were due to safety considerations. It was very difficult to bring workers to perform the work, and there are also certain restrictions and difficulties with the delivery of construction materials. All this, of course, affects the renovation time. Nevertheless, we will continue our work."
