Recently, Zaporizhzhia Metallurgical College of Zaporizhzhia National University hosted a patriotic event called The Chain of Invincibility. The event brought together the student community, war veterans – graduates of the educational institution and representatives of the Territorial Centre for Recruitment, teachers, as well as representatives of local businesses. Among the organisers of the event were Economics and Law College of ZNU, the Board of Directors of the professional colleges of Zaporizhzhia region and Our Dreams non-governmental organization.

Some of the students talked to the soldiers live, and about three hundred joined the conversation online. The soldiers, who had previously received their professional education at the metallurgical college, spoke about their experiences – about their lives before the full-scale war, their motivation to defend Ukraine, and their everyday life on the frontline. In return, students asked about the defenders' plans, their vision of the future and many other topics.

The student community prepared for the event with full responsibility: young people recited poems, showed touching videos, and honoured the heroic deed of the college students and teachers and those soldiers who died on the battlefield.

Future specialists also talked to potential employers – representatives of Zaporizhstal Iron and Steel Works – about the prospects and future of young professionals in Zaporizhzhia, the role of young people in restoring the state and supporting their hometown, opportunities and growth points.

– Ukraine will win, overcome the war path and embark on the path of recovery, development and reconstruction. Perhaps the most important question that Ukraine will face after the victory will be: who will be the driving force of these transformation processes, in this great work of development and recovery? Ukraine will need professional, knowledgeable, trained specialists who will be involved in the restoration of the state in all areas: demining, all areas of construction and infrastructure restoration, industrial production, etc. We are all different, but we share a common goal – to protect our home and rebuild what has been destroyed, to be part of this revival, to be a driver of these processes," said Volodymyr GRITSENKO, Head of HR Development Department at Zaporizhstal.

Students believe in the victory of Ukraine and its further development. Therefore, they plan to build a career in their homeland.

– These are very difficult times, a lot of people are dying in the war - highly qualified specialists, artists, scientists, and various people who are very much needed in our country. And I want to become one of those who will follow these people and be able to develop Ukraine with my own actions, talent and mind, said Yaroslav HUBCHIK, student of Zaporizhzhia Metallurgical College of ZNU.
