In February, labour veterans and young specialists of Metinvest's Central GOK organised an event to collect some food and medicine, warm clothes, they also made trench candles for Ukrainian defenders.
Activists of the Central GOK's veterans' organisation, well-known volunteers in Kryvyi Rih, systematically make a significant contribution to the victory over the enemy by organising the collection of items and food for Ukrainian defenders. The company's supportive retired people are always actively involved in various charity events. In February, they again donated almost UAH 8,000 for fuel for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the request of the soldiers, the grandchildren of the Shop's veterans created small painted postcards as amulets to inspire and encourage the soldiers. Children's artworks are already decorating the walls at the locations of our defenders.
"Our veteran workers are very close-knit. They take care of the defenders with love and gratitude, because they understand: we owe everything we have and can do today to those men and women who are defending Ukraine. We hope and believe that our sincere support and prayers will help them stay strong on the frontline, overcome all difficulties on the way to Victory, and protect them from enemy danger. I thank all our supportive veterans and their families for their kind hearts and magical hands: They are doing a very important job now," said Nataliia FEDORKO, head of the Veteran Charitable Foundation.
It has also become a good tradition for the company's youth to support their military colleagues. Almost every day, defenders in different areas of the frontline receive useful items from our volunteers.
Recently, the youth activists made about 200 trench candles and knitted 50 pairs of warm socks. All this will soon be sent to the soldiers at the front line.
"We are free and independent due to our servicemen. As long as they are on the front line protecting our lives, we have to help them in every way possible, each of us on our own front. We are on a volunteer front. So we hold it – confidently, tirelessly, in spite of everything! I would like to express my gratitude to all Central GOK employees who joined our Warmth for the Front campaign. Let's continue like this" said Illia SHOSTOV, chairman of the Central GOK's Youth Board.
