To mark Ukraine’s Veterans Day, Metinvest organised a gathering for war veterans employed at the company’s operations in Zaporizhzhia. Around 50 veterans from across Zaporizhzhia came together to connect, get to know one another better, exchange experiences, and simply spend time among people who share similar life experiences. This time, the conversation was not limited to military service and the challenges of returning to civilian life. Participants tested their knowledge of the history of the Ukrainian Cossacks during a themed quiz. They explored questions such as what helped the Cossacks survive on the water, what was considered more disgraceful than losing one’s hat, and tackled a range of other unexpected challenges. It seems the Cossack spirit has never disappeared; it has simply taken on a different form today. “This is the second time I’ve attended a gathering like this. I really enjoyed it last time, so I was happy to come again. Such events bring veterans together, people
