Rinat Akhmetov’s Greeting on the Occasion of Miner's Day

Dear friends,Today, first and foremost, I would like to say thank you.The work of a miner has never been easy. But for thirteen years now, you have been working under the conditions of war, living with constant concern for your loved ones and facing new risks and challenges. The enemy is doing everything possible to leave our homes without light and heat. Therefore, every mine that remains in operation and every tonne of coal extracted is a contribution not only to the economy, but also to Ukraine’s energy resilience. It is what brings light and warmth to Ukrainians’ homes.I know for certain that behind your work stand not only professionalism and experience. Behind it lies strength of character. The true character of a miner is not measured by words. This is what you prove every day through your actions. It is responsibility for one’s work and for the people alongside you. The willingness to keep working despite all the challenges, for the sake of your families and your country. I tha

Metinvest Enterprises in Zaporizhzhia Paid Almost UAH 1.6 Billion in Taxes

In the first half of 2026, Metinvest's enterprises in Zaporizhzhia, namely Zaporizhstal, Zaporizhcoke, Zaporizhzhia Refractories and Metinvest Machinery, paid almost UAH 1.6 billion in taxes and levies to budgets at all levels. The single social tax, personal income tax, environmental tax, and military levy traditionally account for the largest shares of these payments. Thus, a large portion of taxes paid by enterprises is directly related to employment and the preservation of jobs in the region."Zaporizhstal is in extremely challenging conditions: hostile attacks led to a long-term shutdown of the enterprise. Recovery will not be easy or quick; however, we have an even greater challenge before us: the blockade of the ports of Greater Odesa, which is not simply affecting logistics and exports. This crisis also confronts us with an undeniable fact: without the ability to produce and sell our products, Ukrainian metallurgy in particular, and domestic export-oriented manufacturers in gen

Iron Resilience: Metinvest’s Northern Iron Ore Honours Its Outstanding Employees on Miner's Day

More than one million tonnes of ore have been extracted since the beginning of the year by Kolachevskyi Mine, the only business unit of Consolidated Iron Ore that produces iron ore through underground mining operations. This achievement is the result of the daily commitment of the miners, who keep production running despite wartime challenges, work in place of colleagues who have taken up the defence of Ukraine, and master modern equipment. On Miner's Day, Metinvest honoured employees whose professionalism and dedication help the enterprise continue operating and developing. There is no such thing as a secondary role in the mine. A development miner prepares the working face, the driller ensures the precision of the technological process, the ground support worker is responsible for the stability and safety of underground workings, the electric and gas welder maintains equipment in good working order, and the electric locomotive operator ensures the movement of underground transport. Civilian Production Hit: Russia Strikes Zaporizhstal Again

In the early hours of 27 August, russian forces once again attacked the Zaporizhstal steelworks, which had completely halted production following the previous strike on 11 August. Five ballistic missiles hit blast-furnace equipment and energy and transport infrastructure, as well as open areas of the plant.Oleksandr MYRONENKO, chief operating officer of Metinvest Group, said: “Zaporizhstal is a civilian industrial enterprise known worldwide for its pig iron, as well as for its rolled steel used to make pipes, household appliances and motor vehicles. No military products are manufactured here; this is not a military facility. The plant employs ordinary people – steelworkers, blast-furnace operators, maintenance workers and energy specialists – who make steel for civilian life. Until 11 August, the plant continued operating despite numerous attacks: we had managed to restore and restart production on multiple occasions. However, the attack two weeks ago was unprecedented in its conseque

In memory of Nataliia Sharun: a woman with a great heart and a pure soul

The Zaporizhstal team lost a colleague who was cherished for her kindness, sincerity and willingness to always lend a helping hand. Nataliia was originally from the village of Primorske in the Vasylivka district of the Zaporizhzhia region. Her colleagues speak of her simply, with warmth and respect: Nataliia knew how to offer support and comfort and always found the right words in difficult moments. She joined Zaporizhstal in June 2025 and trained as a ladle operator in the blast furnace shop.
