A young specialist of the plant - about the values, motivation and expectations that coincided with the reality.
Zaporizhstal has always been and remains a forge of personnel for the industry, because it does not just hire young professionals and specialists: they are taught to work with maximum efficiency, develop and implement new solutions for production and develop their potential. Acquaintance with the enterprise begins with an introductory tour, flows into production practice, professional research projects, and gets its logical continuation on the site as a young employee of the Zaporizhstal team.
Among them is Dmytro POPOV, a hot strip mill rolling operator. He has been working at the plant for eight months and joined the rolling team after completing his vocational education at college.
"I did an on-the-job training in the fabricated metal product shop, and after completing my studies, I came to the hot rolling shop. Now I work at the continuous sheet rolling mill 1680. The team here is very cool, it's really nice to work here: colleagues support each other, give advice, help and, most importantly, share invaluable experience", Dmytro says.
A senior rolling operator, Sergii BURIAK, helped Dmytro to understand all the ins and outs of the profession in the hot rolling shop.
"Dmytro is a young but very talented guy. It would be great if all our young specialists were as enthusiastic as he is", Sergii says.
Every business in the country, every Ukrainian, was affected by the war, it changed their lives and their values. However, both young and experienced Zaporizhstal employees appreciate the reliability and steadiness that the plant has managed to maintain despite the challenges of the times.
"There is a sense of stability here, a feeling that the plant is doing its best for its employees. Everyone understands what the current situation in the country is, it’s difficult for everyone. That’s why we do our best and work,” added Serhiy.
Young workers are valued at the plant . Young people are helped to adapt first, and then to realize themselves, the main thing here is to have a desire to work. Therefore, the mentor, an experienced roller operator, Serhiy, helps Dmytro master the subtleties of the profession and gain experience, and the young specialist is already thinking about further career development.
"To manage everything, you need to be persistent, smart and very attentive. These are the main qualities required for a roller operator, which will be the key to career growth and professional development. I have a goal - to become a senior roller operator to say the least. For me, this is an intermediate goal and definitely not the final one,” notes Dmytro.
