Nelli Duryagina, retired and living alone, from Donetsk

Nelia Duryagina was born in Donetsk. After the graduation, she moved to Pokrovsk. She has lived there all her life. Recently, the woman turned 75 years old. She learned that Russia had attacked Ukraine when she was in a hospital bed.

Nelia Yevhenivna has cancer. On February 23, she underwent an operation in Kramatorsk, and on February 24, the war broke out. The woman recalls that all patients were immediately evacuated, because from the very first days of the invasion Kramatorsk was shelled. Now Nelia Duryahina has a disability group. She lives alone. The husband passed away, the children are far away. Beadwork remains her favourite hobby. She has many paintings, which she gladly gives to her friends. This is not the first time Nelia has received assistance from the Saving Lives humanitarian project. She says, it contains everything she needs. Her pension is not big, so she is very grateful for any help.  She says that Rinat Akhmetov is the only one who cares and helps people so much. The woman's most cherished wish is for the war to end soon and for all people to be healthy and happy.
