A family of internally displaced persons received necessary household appliances and gadgets from Metinvest.
Metinvest Group traditionally does good deeds on New Year holidays. This year, the employees of the company created a real miracle for ten Ukrainian large families and social organizations that desperately need the most necessary things: winter clothes, comfortable beds, heat in the house, normal conditions for cooking, etc. This is exactly what they dreamed of receiving under the New Year's tree this year. Thanks to Metinvest, their dreams have come true.
In Zaporizhzhia, steel workers made happy a large Beresnev family from the village of Mikhaylivka of Zaporizhzhia region. This family has five minor children. Unfortunately, the war took away the most valuable things from the kids–their mother and home. The children's mother died during the shelling, and their native village is occupied by the enemy. All the children were taken to Zaporizhzhia by their great-uncle Oleksandr. At the age of 23, he is taking custody of his nephews – Zlata, Iryna, Vika, first-grader Dmytro and 15-year-old Nastia.
A real miracle for this family would be a return to normal life. Therefore, the volunteers of Metinvest presented a real family New Year for them - with a New Year's tree, gifts and wish fulfillment. The company delivered to the children a festive New Year's tree with decorations and gifts under it. The family received sets of winter clothes for everyone, a laptop, phones, a microwave oven, a multicooker and a large household set. In addition to these gifts, a washing machine, a dryer and a TV were brought. The Group's total assistance to the family amounted to UAH 200 thousand.
In addition, the steel makers arranged a merry New Year's holiday for the kids with contests, quizzes and dances. Oleksandr, who is now taking care of the children, says that the help from Metinvest and the organization of the family holiday gives them hope for the best and an opportunity to distract their thoughts from the horrors of the war.
- There are often explosions in Zaporizhzhia, very loud, so, unfortunately, it is impossible to forget about the war here. But such a festive mood arranged for the kids by Metinvest volunteers helped to comfort them at least a little and gave them faith in the New Year's miracle. My nephews really liked the gifts that were brought for them. I see that they are very happy and not used to such attention. I am also very grateful that a lot of household appliances were brought for us. Thanks to this aid, it will be easier for us to do household chores and create home comfort, - Oleksandr, an IDP from Mikhaylivka, said.
It should be noted that Metinvest employees did good deeds not only in Zaporizhzhia, but also in other cities of the company's presence. In particular, in Kryvyi Rih, a trip to Disney in Truskavets was organized for "sunny children", and steam convection ovens for cooking were purchased for two houses of charity, where more than a hundred elderly people live. In Pokrovske, a New Year holiday with gifts was arranged for large families, one of which has ten children, and the other - eight. Also in Pokrovske, a large family that moved here from Mariupol received an aid. Also, Metinvest Group equipped a creative art workshop for a specialized school in Kamianske. The families that found shelter in the regions where Metinvest Group's enterprises do not operate, also received gifts from steel makers. Volunteers of the company visited a large family from Mariupol, which now lives in Dnipropetrovsk region, and a large family from Avdiivka, which found a new home in Poltava region.
