Zaporizhstal is improving working environment for steel makers

Over the past 12 years, more than 200 amenities have been renovated, and work is still underway to provide comfortable conditions.

Metinvest's Workplace Amenities corporate programme, which includes major overhauls of the amenities at the plant's subdivisions, has been running for 12 years.

"Zaporizhstal employees spend a significant part of their time at work, so comfortable working conditions are very important for our team. To this end, in previous years, we have already overhauled more than 200 amenities, including showers, bathrooms, and canteens. We continue this work even now, even during the hostilities," said Oleksii IVCHENKO, Head of the Social Issues Department.

The plant is currently overhauling the sanitary facilities of Department #3 of the Cold Rolling Shop and Metallurgical Equipment Repair Shop #1. The facilities have already been dismantled and completely new utility lines installed, and the contractor's specialists are currently finishing the walls and floors.

In the future, these premises will be equipped with modern appliances and furniture: amenity blocks, which consist of showers, dressing rooms and bathrooms, will be fitted with new plumbing, individual wardrobes for personal belongings, hairdryers and hand dryers, lighting, and new climate systems.

In total, 150 Zaporizhstal employees will use the two new sanitary premises, which have a total area of 550 square metres. Zaporizhstal has spent UAH 12 million for the major overhaul of these premises. It should be noted that since 2012, the plant has already spent more than UAH 220 million to improve working conditions.

Earlier this year, Zaporizhstal completed a major overhaul of the sanitary facilities of the Railway Transport Department's maintenance shop as part of the Workplace Amenities corporate programme. Roman Slobodianiuk, General Director of the plant, personally checked the quality of the work performed as part of the overhaul.
