Kamet Steel presses ahead with its 2024 employee welfare programme

In difficult times of war, Metinvest Group continues to invest in its social commitments, with a number of large-scale projects underway this year to improve the working conditions of employees at Kamet Steel.

The 2024 programme to improve the working conditions for employees at the enterprise is being implemented in a comprehensive manner - in three key areas at once, encompassing ten projects that are important for steel workers and coke plant workers. The implementation of each of them is closely monitored by professionals of the HR and Social Affairs Directorate.

A repair of classrooms has started in the amenity building of the BOF shop. This year, the plant plans to renovate two classrooms for general engineering and technical disciplines and a classroom for crane operators equipped with a working model of a crane beam for hands-on training. The training ground will also have a comfortable and equipped mess room, which will be a pleasure to use for those taking part in trainings.

Another important project is a major renovation of amenity rooms on the second floor of the amenity building of the Railway Department. It is planned to repair shower rooms, shower rooms, rooms for changing and drying workwear, etc. in these amenity rooms.

Particular attention is paid to the repair of restrooms, as their condition largely determines the level of housekeeping culture at the enterprise. This large-scale project includes the complete renovation of restrooms on all floors of the amenity building of the BOF Shop and the Engineering Building, as well as in the Reliability Management, Mains and Substations Shop, and CHP buildings.

"Following the successful completion of two projects last year to renovate the amenity facilities in the rolling and BOF shops to corporate standards, Kamet Steel has set itself much more ambitious goals this year and received support from the company. One of the most important corporate priorities is to create decent working conditions for our employees and meet their everyday needs, which is imperative and conducive to the effective work of each employee and the team as a whole," said Ivan GOLTVENKO, Director of Human Resources and Social Affairs.
