Soldiers Receive 10 Mine Rollers from Metinvest

They will help to disarm or detonate anti-tank and anti-personnel mines.

Recently, the tankers defending the Zaporizhzhia region from Russian invaders have received another mine roller from Metinvest as part of Steel Front, Rinat Akhmetov's defence initiative. The company launched mass production of mine rollers back in October, and since then, the military has already received 10 of them.

These are paired wheels that are mounted on tanks to disarm and detonate anti-tank and anti-personnel mines. In general, such rollers can withstand 8 to 10 detonations. The Ukrainian Armed Forces' need for rollers is urgent due to the enemy's dense minefields along the entire front line.

"This is the 10th mine roller produced at Metinvest's facilities. This time, the equipment will go to the tankers defending the Zaporizhzhia sector.  But we are not stopping there, we plan to continue to improve this product and increase production volumes. We are already able to produce about five such rollers per month," said Oleksandr MYRONENKO, Metinvest's Chief Operations Officer.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Metinvest has provided approximately UAH 2.5 billion in aid to the Ukrainian defenders as part of Steel Front, Rinat Akhmetov's defence initiative, and has become the largest private donor to the army, according to the media outlet NV. The list of aid provided to the military includes bulletproof vests and protective gear, drones, thermal imagers, steel shelters, interceptors of Lancet drones, and many other special equipment.
