Metinvest hands over new batch of drones and winter closing to Ukrainian border guards

Metinvest Group has delivered 50 DJI Mavic 3 Fly More Combo drones to the State Border Guard Service as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative. The total cost of the tactical equipment amounted to UAH 6 million. Also, the border guards received 100 sets of winter clothing.

Air surveillance drones are the kind of equipment that can never be too much. Especially now, when the enemy is trying to create tension along the entire front line and at the state borders. These technological "birds" conduct covert reconnaissance without endangering operators. They help monitor the movement of enemy personnel, equipment and heavy weapons. That is why Metinvest Group provides the Ukrainian military with drones.

This time, fifty DJI Mavic 3 Fly More Combo drones were delivered to the border guards. This is the maximum equipment configuration with a protective bag, additional blades and batteries. Their software better protects against spoofing and remote-control console detection.

TERMINOLOGY

A spoofing attack is an attempt to fool a GPS receiver by transmitting a stronger signal than the one received from the GPS satellites. These simulated signals are altered to cause the receiver to misidentify its location.

- On behalf of Rinat Akhmetov, Metinvest Group joined the Steel Front. As part of this military initiative, we supply the military with everything that can bring the victory closer and support our defenders. It is not the first time that the State Border Guard Service has received aid from the company. This time, we are delivering air reconnaissance equipment - fifty modern DJI Mavic 3 Fly More Combo drones. We hope that they will keep a good watch over our borders, - Oleksandr VODOVIZ, Head of the Project Office of Metinvest Group's CEO, said.

FACT

Since February 24, 2022, Metinvest Group has handed over more than 1,200 drones to various units of the country's defense forces.

In addition to UASs, the border guards also received 100 sets of winter clothing, as there are at least two more cold months ahead.

- The DJI Mavic 3 is the most popular drone model on the front line. They are now the eyes of the army in the sky. These systems help to detect and destroy enemies. And the warm clothing is a guarantee of comfort for the soldiers and their protection from the vagaries of the weather. We are grateful to Metinvest for its high level of involvement in supplying the units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and for its constant aid with urgent requests, - Oleksandr SEBALO, representative of the SBGS, said.

Earlier, Metinvest provided assistance to the border guards in the amount of UAH 12 million. At that time, the SBGSU received 40 DJI Mavic 3 and Air 2 drones, 20 thermal imagers, 30 EcoFlow multi-charging stations, 30 six-kilowatt generators, 300 sets of winter and thermal clothing, and 50 pairs of Lowa tactical boots. Additionally, 100 tons of steel structures were handed over to the border guards to rebuild their posts.
