The soldiers are very pleased with the vehicles. During a counter-offensive, vehicles are lost much faster, so they are needed all the time, especially off-road vehicles that can overcome difficult terrain.
- We are taking part in repelling Russian armed invasion in the Kupiansk sector. We will use the vehicles we have been given to deliver ammunition load, food, and transport people to the forward defence line. The off-road vehicles are very effective in combat missions because they have high cross-country ability. We are in the active phase now, and unfortunately, losses in equipment are high. And these vehicles will be used directly to strike the enemy, - a representative of the special unit says.
The military often ask for vehicles with high ground clearance because they are convenient for performing various tasks. That's why the company delivers pick-up trucks and off-road vehicles to soldiers.
- Since the start of hostilities, the Steel Front has supplied almost 500 vehicles to the army. We have also sent more than 1,500 drones, because the 'eyes' at the front line are very important, - Oleksandr Vodoviz, Head of the Project Office of Metinvest Group's CEO, says.
It's worth reminding that Metinvest has recently handed over 230 FPV drones, 5 DJI Mavic 3T copters, and 3 Sirko reconnaissance drones to Ukrainian soldiers. The total cost of the equipment is UAH 4 million.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Metinvest has spent UAH 4.2 billion to support the Armed Forces of Ukrainian and Ukrainians. Of this amount, more than UAH 2 billion has been spent on helping soldiers as part of the Steel Front defence initiative.
