Metinvest Hands Over Auto and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Worth UAH 10 Million to Donetsk Region's Assault Troops

As part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front defence initiative the assault troops serving in the Donetsk sector received a batch of equipment from Metinvest Group. Its total cost is UAH 10 million.

The full-scale war has been going on in Ukraine for almost two years. To defeat the enemy, Ukrainian soldiers risk their lives every day, and Metinvest helps to protect them and delivers the most necessary equipment to the frontline.

Another batch of equipment went to the soldiers of the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade, who are serving in the Donetsk sector, in particular holding the line near Bakhmut. The assault troops received 10 four-wheel drive buses, 5 ATVs and a Valkiriia UAV.

"The need for transport is always very high – it is a consumable at the front line. Of course, the vehicles can serve for months, but if there is a common "incoming strike", the vehicle is gone in a moment. We transport ammunition, personnel, and the wounded in our buses. This is an important contribution to our fight, we can't do it without help", – the senior sergeant of the 80th Air Assault Brigade said.

Metinvest systematically purchases vehicles of various models in Europe for Ukrainian soldiers. For example, in December, a batch of pick-up trucks was also delivered to the Security Service of Ukraine.

"The buses were brought from Germany. We carry out technical inspections and, if necessary, repairs for all vehicles. We hope that this equipment will help the guys defend our country against the enemy", Oleksandr VODOVIZ, Head of the Project Office of Metinvest Group’s CEO, said.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Metinvest has already spent UAH 4.8 billion on aid to the army and Ukrainians. Of this amount, over UAH 2.5 billion has been spent on helping the soldiers as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front defence initiative.
