Five lightly armoured minibuses and two repaired trucks have been delivered to the military. Metinvest Group handed over a batch of vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative.
Metinvest Group purchased five minibuses in Europe, which were previously used as cash-in-transit vehicles. After technical inspection and maintenance, as well as repainting in tactical colours, the vehicles are sent to soldiers to the front line, as the need for such vehicles is very high.
Chief Operating Officer of Metinvest Oleksandr Myronenko handed over the vehicles to the military on behalf of Steel Front.
- These vehicles can be used both for transporting things and for transporting people close to operating sites. These are quite mobile vehicles, but they are multi-purpose. Due to their light armour, they provide additional protection for soldiers who move in them, - Oleksandr Myronenko said.
The military say that such support is another step towards the great victory.
- This vehicle will be used in the Zaporizhzhia sector, and time will show if it will be used in Crimea. It is especially valuable that it has armour to protect the lives and health of soldiers if necessary. We are very grateful to Steel Front for the vehicle - such support inspires us all to win, - the soldier of the Armed Forces with the call sign "Shumakher" says.
Metinvest is also helping the defenders of Ukraine to restore their vehicles.
The company's specialists restore equipment at specially created repair facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This time, a team of nine skilled Metinvest mechanics repaired and handed over two trucks to the defenders. Now they will operate in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
- The trucks have undergone a complete overhaul of their engines, chassis and internal equipment. These trucks also have equipment to carry out routine repairs of some machinery and devices and also other facilities to provide a place to personnel for repair, - Oleksandr Myronenko, Chief Operating Officer of Metinvest, said.
The military say that the all-terrain vehicle will help with the removal and repair of damaged equipment at the front line.
- We plan to use these vehicles to repair weapons and equipment and to evacuate personnel. The vehicle is a versatile, four-wheel drive vehicle that can drive to any location on any road. We are grateful to Metinvest for its support in the repair! - a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign "Patriot" said.
It's worth reminding, that as part of the Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative, since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine's defenders have received 423 vehicles and 1.3 million litres of fuel from Metinvest Group.
