Air Defence Forces Receive Quadcopters and Metal Detectors from Metinvest

Metinvest has handed over another batch of aid to the А 4992 military unit as part of Steel Front, Rinat Akhmetov's defence initiative. The equipment includes drones, metal detectors, solar panels, as well as equipment repair tools and winter tyres.

The equipment and components are intended for the military defending critical infrastructure in eastern Ukraine. The soldiers of the unit sincerely appreciate the company's and, in particular, Metinvest Pokrovskcoal's steadfast support - this is not the first batch of aid that the Group has sent to the front line. To meet the needs of the defenders as much as possible, everything needed was purchased according to a pre-approved list.

AID IN NUMBERS

Since the start of the full-scale war, Metinvest has provided over UAH 2.5 billion in aid to the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

"On behalf of the unit's personnel, I would like to thank Metinvest for supporting not only our battalion but the whole of Ukraine. We regularly receive expensive equipment that helps us perform combat missions more efficiently and protect critical infrastructure facilities in the Donetsk region from enemy drones," comments Lieutenant Colonel Serhii STEPANIUK, commander of the A 4992 military unit.

Amid intense fighting, the company's care is essential for the success of our defenders. In particular, drones remain a popular area of assistance. According to one of the Special Forces soldiers who will be using the quadcopters, there is always a shortage of them, as the equipment often breaks down and needs regular maintenance.

FACT

Since 24 February 2022, Metinvest has handed over more than 1,500 drones to the army, making the company one of the largest private suppliers of much-needed equipment.

Aside from the crucial quadcopters, the military has also received metal detectors, equipment repair tools, and several sets of winter tyres.

"We are starting the new year with the handover of important equipment for the air defence forces. We hope that it will help to protect the sky over the Donetsk region, giving us the possibility to work calmly and bring victory closer together with the military. We also continue to provide assistance for the construction of fortifications. The company's equipment is always at the disposal of the military," said Andrii AKULICH, General Director of Metinvest Pokrovskcoal.
