Third Assault Brigade of Ukrainian Armed Forces Receives Electronic Warfare Systems Worth UAH 11 Million from Metinvest

Members of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received a new batch of equipment from Metinvest Group as part of Steel Front, Rinat Akhmetov's defence initiative.

Amid the full-scale war, Metinvest launched the manufacturing of steel products for the needs of the front line to bolster the Ukrainian defence. In addition, the company has been steadily purchasing different equipment and handing it over to different units of the defence forces at soldiers' request. This includes, among other things, electronic warfare devices.

Another batch has been sent to the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that has received 100 dome signal amplifiers and electronic warfare systems, essential for jamming enemy drones. The total worth of the equipment is over UAH 11 million.

"We are not the only ones who have mastered the strategy of drone warfare  Russians have been using drones extensively as well. Our main task is to misguide and disable these UAVs. Metinvest has already started to make decoys of weapons that draw enemy fire. And thanks to the electronic warfare systems, soldiers will be safer," said Oleksandr VODOVIZ, head of the project management office of Metinvest Group's CEO.

Metinvest plans to continue to supply even more electronic warfare systems to the military, as this is necessary to protect equipment and the most valuable thing - the lives of Ukraine's defenders - from Russian drones.

Overall, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Metinvest has allocated almost UAH 4.8 billion to support Ukraine. Of this amount, over UAH 2.5 billion has been spent on helping the military as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front defence initiative. The company has made and supplied to the military armoured shields for 200 frontline vehicles and 330 mobile steel shelters and purchased 1,500 drones and 2,000 pieces of high-precision military optics.
