Thirty Seven Buggies Made of Metinvest Steel for Defenders of Ukraine

The third batch of buggy vehicles manufactured from steel products of Metinvest-SMC has been sent to the frontline. The aid to the army is provided free of charge as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front defence initiative.

At the request of the South Operative Command, Metinvest-SMC began shipping its steel products back in March 2023. Then, the company supplied 3.8 tonnes of rolled steel for the first 10 buggies. The next 12 buggies were manufactured in early summer, and recently the third batch of 15 mini-cars was sent to the front line. Some of them will be used by the National Guard members of Ukraine.

Since March 2023, at the request of the military, Metinvest-SMC has supplied rolled steel for the manufacture of 37 buggies

Such mobile equipment for small combat teams plays an important role in the performance of combat missions by our defenders at the front line. The buggies are able to travel quickly off-road and help the military conduct reconnaissance and quickly strike the enemy.

As part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front defence initiative, Metinvest systematically supplies the Defence Forces of Ukraine with a variety of vehicles. Over the eighteen months of the full-scale war, the Group has already supplied 441 vehicles for various purposes. Pick-up trucks, four-wheel drive jeeps and minibuses are in high demand. They help the defenders to supply their units with all the things needed, move quickly and stay one step ahead of the enemy. Quad bikes are also in demand, as they are valued for their high mobility, just like buggies.
