Anti-Drone Gun from Metinvest Downs Enemy Drones

The 36th Marine Brigade downs enemy drones using modern electronic warfare equipment provided by Metinvest as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front defence initiative. The Piranha five-channel mobile anti-drone system has been on combat duty for two weeks. The cost of one such gun is over UAH 700 thousand.

The 36th Marine Brigade - the glorious warriors who defended Azovstal and have extensive combat experience - received a modern anti-drone gun from Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front defence initiative in addition to the vehicles, starlinks, copters, quad-bikes and other equipment they had previously received.

Ukrainian defenders emphasise that the active and widespread use of drones in combat requires equally high-quality protection against enemy drones. Therefore, suppression equipment - especially mobile equipment - is very useful on the front lines.

Anti-drone guns create radio interference at the frequencies of signals used by UAVs and drones, causing the occupiers' copters to fail the mission. Experienced Ukrainian soldiers admit that in 10 days, one gun has already taken down three enemy drones, disrupting the rashists' plans for successful reconnaissance of our defenders' locations.

- Piranha is essentially a portable counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS), which cannot replace electronic warfare, but is an excellent add-on to it. In their requests, the military emphasise the indispensability of this system for drone suppression: they are relatively light, mobile and quite effective systems, and quite easy to use. That is why we continue to replenish the arsenal of such anti-drone guns that "clip the wings" of enemy "birds", - Oleksandr MYRONENKO, Chief Operations Officer of Metinvest Group, said.

INSERT

C-UAS systems significantly expand the capabilities of radar detection of enemy unmanned aerial vehicles

C-UAS systems significantly expand the capabilities of radar detection of enemy unmanned aerial vehicles, they are easy to use and deploy, and are relatively inexpensive to maintain and operate. The cost of one such gun is over UAH 700 thousand.

It's worth reminding that since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Metinvest spent almost UAH 4 billion to support the country and its citizens, including UAH 2 billion for the army as part of the Steel Front defence initiative.
