Metinvest's enterprises in Zaporizhzhia awarded the best employees and teams on the occasion of the Day of Metallurgist and Miner.
On the occasion of the Day of Metallurgical and Mining Workers of Ukraine, steelworkers of Zaporizhstal, Zaporizhcoke, Zaporizhvognetryv and ZCMW were awarded honorary awards and bonuses. Given the challenging security situation in the region, the awards were presented at the workplace, without any formal ceremony.
In Zaporizhzhia, Yuriy Ryzhenkov, CEO of Metinvest Group, personally presented the company's highest award, the Golden Star of Metinvest, to Sergii Sydorenko, senior foreman of gas facilities at Zaporizhstal's blast furnace shop, Vladislav Osochenko, excavator operator at Zaporizhstal's slag processing shop, Maksym Kobyliatskyi, head of the final gas cooling section at Zaporizhcoke's recovery shop, and Dmytro Fomichov, roaster at Zaporizhvognetryv's aluminosilicate shop.
"Hundreds of thousands of workers in the mining and metals sector are a powerful force that contributes to Ukraine's victory over the enemy. They bring peaceful times closer by producing steel products for the army and strengthening the country's defence capabilities. They volunteer and help our defenders on the front.
We will never forget those who gave their lives defending the country in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We will always remember our colleagues who died as a result of the aggressor's terrorist attacks. The steel heart of Ukraine beats, no matter how hard it is. And it continues to beat thanks to our cohesion and unity," said Yuriy RYZHЕNKOV.
The title "Metinvest's Golden Dynasty" was awarded to the Suprun family from Zaporizhcoke and the Petrov family from Zaporizhvognetryv.
Employees and teams of the enterprises' shops received awards from Metinvest Group, enterprises and trade unions, as well as cash bonuses for their significant contribution to improving production efficiency and the best production and financial performance.
"Right now, the work of steelworkers is more crucial than ever. We are working to support the national economy, help save Ukraine and be a strong backbone for our defenders. We do not celebrate our professional holiday today, but I am sure we will celebrate this day in a peaceful Ukraine, a victorious country. I consider the Day of Metallurgist and Miner a good occasion to once again thank the entire Zaporizhstal team for their hard work, which is essential for our city and country. For endurance, dedication, courage to be a support and protection in the darkest times," said Roman SLOBODIANIUK, General Director of Zaporizhstal.
In total, 22 employees of Metinvest Group received the company's main individual award, the Golden Star of Metinvest, this year.
