How to use artificial intelligence safely, where AI technologies are being applied today, and why critical thinking remains more important than any algorithm were among the topics explored by participants in the second summer session of Blogger Camp, organised by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
The children took part in an engaging workshop on artificial intelligence led by Maksym Balaniuk, Director of Innovation and Development at Metinvest Digital. The event combined lively discussion, hands-on activities, a quiz, and conversations about real-life applications of modern technologies.
“Face-to-face interaction revealed a great deal that was new to me. I was once again convinced that Ukraine’s young people are second to none. Children know a great deal about technology, possess strong critical thinking skills, and are able to engage in discussions and defend their views. Today, we discussed artificial intelligence from different perspectives, exploring not only the technology itself but also how people can work with it, coexist with it, and benefit from its capabilities. As a company operating in heavy industry, we are one of the leaders in the use of artificial intelligence. It helps people unlock opportunities and turn their dreams into reality,” said Maksym BALANIUK.

The training generated considerable interest among young people. The children actively participated in the discussion, sharing their views on the possibilities of artificial intelligence, asking questions, and engaging in debate with the expert.
“I thoroughly enjoyed today’s training session. I learned a great deal about artificial intelligence, including many fascinating facts about it, and found the experience extremely valuable,” shared VIKTORIIA, a participant in the Camp.
According to 14-year-old SASHA, the workshop helped him see modern technology from a new perspective:
“The training provided me with new knowledge. It sparked a greater interest in artificial intelligence, and thanks to this training, I will probably explore the subject in much greater depth in the future."

The Foundation notes that such meetings help children master modern technologies, develop critical thinking skills, and use digital tools in a conscious and responsible way. In addition, they can serve as a first step towards choosing a future career.
Blogger Camp is always packed with engaging and varied activities that help young Ukrainians believe in their own abilities, relax and improve their wellbeing in the fresh air, make new friends, and look confidently towards their own future and the future of their country despite the challenges of today.
Through the ‘Rinat Akhmetov – For Children. Peaceful Recreation for Children of Ukraine’ programme, over 5,000 children from across the country have already been given the opportunity to recover their strength, find hope, and gain new experiences. Over the course of its activities, the Foundation has provided support to more than six million children across Ukraine.
