In 2025, Integrated Iron Ore allocated UAH 27.9 million to improve workplace welfare

Despite the today's challenges and shelling, Metinvest's mining and processing plants in Kryvyi Rih are finding opportunities to repair amenities and renovate equipment in them. In 2025, the total budget for social sphere investments at Integrated Iron Ore amounted to UAH 27.9 million.

At Northern Iron Ore, employees of Mine Haulage Shop #1 are already feeling the positive changes, where repair to the bathing zone began last year. Currently, roofing work has been completed on a total area of 1,819 m2 in the area where damage and moisture penetration were observed. A major renovation of the men's bathhouse and bathroom with a total area of 60 m² has also been completed. The renovation has improved the quality of workplace amenities and created a more comfortable and safer environment for employees. The renovated premises are now more comfortable, warmer and meet modern hygiene requirements. This renovation is a transitional one and will continue until 2027.

There is also good news from the Hannivskyi open pit mine. The replacement of equipment at the amenity building's heat supply station has been completed. The equipment has been installed, tested and put into operation in normal mode. This ensures a stable hot water supply for the needs of employees, as well as uninterrupted heat supply to the facility. The renovation of the heat supply station has increased the reliability of the system and reduced the risk of emergencies, which directly affects people's comfort and safety.

A major overhaul was also carried out in the special clothing warehouse of the production preparation workshop at Northern Iron Ore. Last year, the faces and roof with a total area of 150 m² were repaired there. A number of administrative amenity buildings and storage rooms with a total area of 220 m2 were also renovated. The workwear issue window was renovated and new fitting rooms were organized in the special closing storage room.

In 2025, the overhaul of the bathing zone at Pelletizing Plant #2 continued. Last year, the shower rooms of the men's bathhouse were renovated there.

"Metinvest pays special attention to supporting and improving existing working conditions. A high level of comfort and safety for employees is always not only a requirement, but also an important component of production development. After all, when people feel respected, they become more motivated and perform their work accordingly," says Olena LIAKH, Head of Social Affairs Department at Metinvest's Iron Ore.

A lot of work has been done to improve working conditions at Central Iron Ore. Last year, major overhauls of laundries that serve the Crushing Plant, Kolachevsky Mine and Petrivskyi open pit mine were completed. The doors, windows and ventilation systems in the laundries were replaced. Builders tiled the walls and floors with ceramic tiles. The main technological equipment – washing machines and dryers – was also replaced. The bathhouse equipment, including ventilation and electric boiler, was replaced too.

Major overhauls were carried out in sanitary facilities and amenities of five structural subdivisions at Central Iron Ore: process water and slurry treatment shop, pelletising plant, railway transport department, central plant and ore testing laboratories. In total, eight sanitary conveniences and five shower rooms were renovated. The facilities had their wall coverings, doors, windows, ventilation and plumbing replaced.

A lot of work was also done in the boiler room at Petrivskyi open pit mine of Central Iron Ore. There, a major overhaul was carried out with the replacement of all utility lines.
