Today, above 300 couples work at Zaporizhstal, each with a love story that began at the enterprise. One such romance blossomed between Tetiana and Dmytro Klentsar.
Dmytro, a locomotive driver at the 'Marten' station, joined the plant after relocating from Donetsk to Zaporizhzhia when war broke out in 2014. Tetiana came to Zaporizhstal a decade ago following an advice from her close relatives. She now works as a duty officer at the 'Shlakova' station in the railway transport department.
Despite both having worked at the plant for considerable time, their paths never crossed professionally. Nonetheless, the fact of being colleagues has united them.
"I first noticed Tetiana two years ago as we were crossing through the checkpoint. Her vibrant braids drew my attention. I was quite taken with her. I even asked my colleagues about her and sought mutual friends. But at that point, I never got the chance to speak with her personally," recalls Dmytro.
The first meeting of Tetiana and Dmytro happened a bit later in a social network.
"He found me on a social network and wrote something like 'It seems we are colleagues.' After that, we started chatting. Our relationship actually developed very rapidly. We spent a lot of time together and soon decided to move in together," shares Tetiana KLENTSAR.
Less than a year later, Dmytro proposed to his beloved, and in September 2024, the couple were married. They express gratitude for finding each other, particularly during such challenging times. Dmytro jokes that he chose both his profession and his wife for the same reason – to ensure life would never be dull.
"I am definitely lucky, because I will never be bored neither at home nor at work. Each shift is unique, always presenting new and interesting challenges that sometimes require creative solutions. The same is at home, we always do something. Tania constantly comes up with interesting activities and brightens our everyday routine. That is so crucial nowadays: having a beloved person nearby, who understands you and offers support during difficult times and brings optimism and faith in a better future," noted Dmytro.
