On the occasion of the Day of Metallurgical and Mining Industry Workers, the most worthy representatives of four Kryvyi Rih mining and processing plants (GOKs) and a mechanical repair enterprise of Metinvest Group were awarded the highest corporate awards. Gold stars were presented by Yuriy Ryzhenkov, CEO of Metinvest, and Igor Tonev, Head of Kryvyi Rih Consolidated GOK.
According to the tradition started by the company 11 years ago, on the eve of the professional holiday of miners and metallurgists, a series of the best employees of Metinvest is replenished with new stars. This year in Kryvyi Rih, the top five leaders of the mining year received the highest corporate award: Ivan Kovtun, head of the drilling section of Pervomaiskyi open pit at Northern GOK, Yuri Hryhoriev, mechanic of the grinding section of the beneficiation plant at Central GOK, Denys Kolesnychenko, drilling rig operator in the open pit of Ingulets GOK, Andrii Molchanov, mechanic of the section of ore beneficiation plant No. 1 at YuGOK and Mykhailo Tkachenko, turner - borer of the mechanical assembly shop of the Kryvyi Rih branch No. 2 of Zaporszhzhia Foundry and Mechanical Plant.
Well-deserved Gold Stars were presented to the best employees by Yuriy RYZHENKOV, CEO of Metinvest Group, in the workplaces. In his welcoming remarks, he thanked the staff for their dedication and emphasized:
"Metinvest's employees support Ukraine's economy with their work. Thanks to them, entire cities and regions live. Employees of the mining and metallurgical sector are a powerful force that contributes to the victory of our state over the enemy. The steel heart of Ukraine beats, no matter how hard it is. And it continues to beat thanks to our cohesion and unity."
The new winners of Metinvest's Gold Stars were selected in a fair competition among thousands of worthy employees of the company. Among the main criteria for victory, first of all, it was taken into account the initiative of candidates, the desire to be the best in the profession, the ability to improve work in their department through the implementation of effective operational proposals. Leadership qualities, mentoring experience, the ability to take responsibility in a team, to be an example and mentor for young professionals were also considered. In the realities of wartime, great importance was attached to the courage and active civic position of the nominees.
Igor Tonev, General Director of Kryvyi Rih Consolidated GOK, congratulated the awardees and thanked everyone for their courage and dedication, endurance and strength. He noted the perseverance, steadfastness and optimism of the employees. The head of a large mining team also expressed confidence that the consolidation of the three mining and processing plants will help strengthen enterprises and help withstand the difficult conditions of the wartime.
In addition to awarding five Metinvest Gold Stars to five Kryvyi Rih residents, the guests of honor congratulated the Vorotnikov family from Central GOK, which has 909 years of cumulative work experience at the enterprise, on receiving the title of Golden Dynasty of Metinvest. They expressed admiration for the indomitable spirit of the miners, which helps them to keep the production system in the most difficult times for the country.
