Zaporizhstal trained employees in first aid throughout the year

We hear it all the time: being able to provide first aid is vital. This information is not new, but it is always relevant. That is why Zaporizhstal systematically trains its employees so that they can act quickly and confidently in critical situations.Last year, first aid response teams were formed at the plant. They included employees who attended two-day intensive courses and were trained to provide emergency assistance in case of sudden deterioration of health or various types of injuries before the arrival of medical personnel. In 2025, 214 employees who are members of the first aid teams underwent six hours of retraining with certified instructors from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.The retraining program includes a short theoretical part, where the basics of anatomy and physiology, types of injuries and emergency conditions are reviewed, as well as practical classes on practicing first aid skills on mannequins and in pairs. Metinvest’s Iron Ore continue implementing a support and training programme for veterans

An important step in returning to civilian life for some veterans at Metinvest’s Iron Ore has been their desire to develop professionally by opening new horizons in their careers. This year, four demobilised employees of the Iron Ore enrolled, under a simplified admission procedure, in bachelor’s programmes at Metinvest Polytechnic, the first private mining and steel-making university in Ukraine.Each veteran has their own motivation and plans for study. Some aim to enhance their professional skills, while others are mastering a new field in order to realise themselves in a new profession. There are also those who chose to study without specific ambitions or plans, instead seeking new sources of life motivation.Among mining employees, the most in-demand study programmes include open-pit mining, value-based business management, and mechanical equipment and systems engineering. Students acquire knowledge remotely in an online format, without interrupting their core work responsibilities.

The Gateway of the Plant: Zaporizhstal Carried Out a Major Overhaul of the Wagon Tippler

Zaporizhstal carried out a major overhaul of the mobile unloading system PRK-5 wagon tippler. This equipment is responsible for unloading of concentrate, sinter ore, coke, and lime from wagons. Nearly 250 wagons, around 70 tonnes each, pass through it daily. According to the plan, the repair was scheduled to take seven days. However, thanks to the effective organization of work and the responsible approach of employees, it was completed 12 hours early. Specialists from the metallurgical equipment shop, MSEERS, and blast furnace personnel – up to 70 workers every day – worked at the site. Key tasks included the replacement of drive pinion shafts and gear rims for the rotor turning mechanism, repairs to the movement mechanisms, restoration of the tipping platform metal structures, inspection with partial replacement of mechanical equipment and cabling, repairs to electric motors, and replacement of the tippler rail tracks. Drilling of the gear rims was carried out by ZCMW specialists.FI

The Backbone of Ukraine’s Economy: Forbes Names Metinvest Number One Company in Country

Metinvest Group has topped Forbes Ukraine’s ranking of the 202 largest private companies in the country, those that form the backbone of the national economy.The ranking includes companies with revenues in 2024 of UAH5.5 billion and more, an “entry threshold” up 17% compared with 2023.Exceptions were made for state-owned companies, intermediaries operating in natural monopoly markets, businesses with fewer than 50 employees and those that had ceased operations as of 24 October. Ukraine Builds Its First New Type of Underground Steel Bunker for Civilians – the “Citadel”, Developed by Metinvest and the State Agency for Restoration and Development

The first example of a new type of shelter for civilians in has been built in In Borodianka, Kyiv region, Ukraine – the “Citadel” model of underground steel bunker, created by Metinvest Group in partnership with the State Agency for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine and with the support of the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories. The concept for the Citadel project was first presented in summer 2025 at the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) in Rome.
