Ukrainian students studying abroad will undergo internships at Metinvest enterprises

Metinvest has identified the most successful participants of Steel Force, a new internship program for Ukrainian students pursuing higher education in the UK. Its goal is to provide young people with the opportunity to build a career in an international company, as well as to involve them in the implementation of projects for the reconstruction of Ukraine and the development of the domestic mining and metallurgical industry.During the first stage of Steel Force, 30 students from 16 British universities were united into teams that, with the support of mentors – Metinvest's managers of various levels – worked on real business cases of the company. For the participants, master classes, practical classes and meetings with the company's managers were held, as well as an excursion to Spartan UK, Metinvest's rolling mill in Newcastle.Recently, the final projects were defended in front of the jury, which included Metinvest's top managers responsible for various areas of the company's work.The

"It is important to be among people and build plans for the future"

A defender from Zaporizhcoke shared his experience of returning to civilian life. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, almost every fifth employee of Metinvest has joined the army. Currently, 959 veterans have returned to work at the company. The veteran adaptation ecosystem covers programmes of psychological support, rehabilitation, retraining, obtaining higher education, and preparing teams for the return of veterans. A war veteran and Zaporizhcoke worker Denys Savenkov is also taking the path from military to civilian life. Denys volunteered for the army in April 2022. He served in the 55th Separate Artillery Brigade "Zaporizhzhia Sich" in the Donetsk sector. "I was a gunner on an M777 howitzer. It is also called 'Three Axes' ‒ a powerful weapon. Zaporizhstal Conducts Comprehensive Emergency Response Training

Wartime realities demand specific skills: the ability to provide first aid, extinguish fires, evacuate from dangerous areas, and assist others. For metallurgical workers, it is also critical to know how to properly shut down equipment and utilities to localise consequences.To ensure employees are well-prepared to act in emergency situations, Zaporizhstal is conducting a series of comprehensive emergency response training sessions. The latest session was held in the blast furnace shop.According to the scenario, the workers were trained on how to eliminate the consequences of a hostile attack. According to the legend, shop equipment was damaged, some workers were injured, a fire had broken out, and a suspicious item was discovered.Participants practiced an algorithm of actions: shuting down the blast furnace, evacuating personnel, first aid for the wounded, extinguishing the fire, coordinating with emergency services, the enterprise despatch centre, and the emergency management office.

Youth of Metinvest in Kryvyi Rih Develops a Youth Movement

Recently, at Northern GOK, an insight session took place for youth unions from Integrated GOK and Metinvest Business Service. This was the first meeting held with such an expanded group of participants. The active youth exchanged experiences and revised priorities for the future work of the youth hubs.Northern GOK served as the venue for this meeting.
