NV: From Steel Bunkers to Mine Trawls: The Evolution of the Production of Metinvest for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Since 24 February 2022, many Ukrainian businesses have been reflecting on their contribution to countering the aggressor. Metinvest Group, one of the largest businesses in Ukraine, combined the purchase of equipment, construction of defence structures and volunteering with the production of steel products. Olha Diachenko has been working as a metal setter at Kametstal's rolling mill for a few months. Metinvest Builds First Steel Underground Hospital on Front Line for Ukraine’s Army for UAH20 Million

As part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front initiative, Metinvest Group in coordination with medical forces group “East”, has created the country’s first underground stabilisation centre for Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence to save the lives of defenders on the front line.The underground hospital is based on steel “hideout” bunkers developed by Metinvest, which have been modernised and structurally modified to meet the needs of military medics. It is equipped to the standards of a second-echelon field hospital (Role/Echelon 2) in accordance with NATO standards. Life-saving equipment: new defibrillators installed at Zaporizhstal medical stations

The speed and quality of medical care can directly impact a person’s health and survival. When it comes to cardiac arrest, the outcome is literally decided in the first few minutes. Medical personnel must act quickly to perform resuscitation and restore the heartbeat. For this reason, every medical station at Zaporizhstal is equipped with modern defibrillators.Recently, new defibrillators were installed at the medical stations in the blast furnace shop, the slag processing shop, the hot rolling mill, and section No. 3 of the cold rolling mill. An iron will to live and faith in the future: The story of a veteran Vadym Yavtushenko from Inhulets ore mining and processing plant

After recovering from a severe shrapnel wound sustained on the front lines, Vadym Yavtushenko returned to the Inhulets ore mining and processing plant (GZK). Before the war, he was a shovel operator, in the combat zone he was a paratrooper, and today he works as a quarry dispatcher. From agreement to action: inter-village roads in the Gleiuvatka community are being repaired with the support of Metinvest

In 2024, a memorandum of cooperation once again established partnership obligations between Metinvest's Northern and Central GOK, Gleiuvatka Village Council and NGO "Kryvyi Rih Foundation For The Future". One of the main vectors of work this year was to improve the condition of roads between the community's settlements. The poor condition of the asphalt road surface in rural areas or its complete absence is a major problem for many Ukrainian communities. The same situation has arisen in the Gleiuvatka community, where a 4,000 m² section of the road between the Novoivanivka and Nedaivoda villages was in urgent need of repair.
