How to save a life in a critical situation: a training event for KAMET STEEL employees

Metinvest Supported the Creation of the “Tree of Memory” Memorial to the Fallen Ukrainian Defenders in Zaporizhzhia

The “Tree of Memory,” the first installation of the “Planting” memorial complex dedicated to the fallen Ukrainian defenders, was unveiled in Zaporizhzhia as part of the contemporary “Gogolfest. Pokrova” arts festival, held from 18 to 20 October. A war veteran from Zaporizhzhia told us about his combat experience and his own path of reintegration into civilian life. Denys Humennyi from Zaporizhzhia has been working at ZAPOROZHOGNEUPOR since 2010. He started as a sorter in the Firebrick Shop and simultaneously participated in career development programmes offered by Metinvest Group to its employees. "During the first years of my work, I spent time studying technology and products, doing more than my position required. That's why I was offered to perform the duties of a Firebrick Shop foreman Then I applied for the "Young Leaders" corporate programme, and our team won a prize. Employees of Metinvest's Integrated GOK improved their first aid skills

The second stage of first aid training was held in Kryvyi Rih for employees of Metinvest's Iron Ore Enrichment Works. The employees, being a part of pre-medical care teams, reviewed and solidified their previous knowledge and studied their skills in rescuing the injured.It is worth reminding that the first stage of training for GOK employees was conducted by experts of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine in the summer of this year Back then, 513 employees learned life-saving skills. In October, 342 employees, who are part of pre-medical care teams of their shops, improved their knowledge.At the seminars, employees discussed the theory and focused on developing practical algorithms and adjusting their actions in potential critical situations. Central GOK's Crushers Replace the Longest Conveyor Belt

Scheduled preventative repairs were performed at Central GOK during a 26-hour shutdown of the crushing plant's 1st stage to avoid unplanned downtime.Conveyor belts at the crushing plant are the main blood vessels that are used for transportation of the iron ore from one crushing stage to the next one. Any breakdown can disrupt the production schedule and impact the efficiency of the entire enterprise. The upgrade of the conveyor belt of the plant's 1st and 2nd stages is conducted every 3 years at the Central GOK's crushing plant. This time, 1st stage was shut down for a little more than a day for repairs. The primary goal of the planned shutdown is the replacement of the transportation belt on the K-1 conveyor.
