Metinvest B.V., the parent company of an international vertically integrated group of steel and mining companies (jointly referred to as “Metinvest” or “the Group”), today announces the successful launch of a new accounts receivable securitisation programme for its Italian re-rollers, Metinvest Trametal and Ferriera Valsider. The transaction will allow to finance a pool of accounts receivable up to EUR 50 million. The facility has a maximum tenor of five years and a one-year rolling commitment. It will support sales in the EU and improve the working capital position of Italian re-rollers of the Group.The transaction has been structured by Banca Akros S.p.A (Gruppo Banco BPM) through an Italian Law 130/99 special purpose vehicle. It involves the issuance of partially paid variable funding senior notes, backed by a portfolio of trade receivables originated by Metinvest Trametal and Ferriera Valsider. Banco BPM S.p.A. through Banca Akros S.p.A. acts as senior investor in the transaction.

In the by-product recovery shop, as part of the reconstruction project, comprehensive restoration work on the benzene section building, which contains vital equipment for the stable production process, has been completed. The building houses pumping units, various process equipment, and communications to the benzene column in front of the building. Operating for as long as Kamet Steel's coke-chemical subdivisions, the building had significantly deteriorated due to its extensive use. In particular, the walls, windows, roofing, floor slabs, and beams were recently in an unsatisfactory condition. In this regard, a "restoration" of the building was carried out to avoid emergency situations. Amid the full-scale war, Metinvest remains a pillar of Ukraine’s economy. In the first half of 2024, including associated companies and joint ventures, the Group increased its taxes and duties to budgets of all levels in the country by 56% year-on-year to UAH9.9 billion.The largest item included subsoil use fees, which more than tripled year-on-year to UAH2.9 billion. The second largest was a single social contribution of UAH1.8 billion, up 19%. Completing the top three payments was personal income tax of UAH1.7 billion, up 16%.In January-June 2024, the Group’s Ukrainian enterprises paid UAH1.4 billion in income tax, up 26% year-on-year, while rent payments rose by 7% to UAH631 million and environmental tax by 22% to UAH368 million. Metinvest has overcome many challenges during the war. And many are still ahead. Our efforts to rebuild the business to face the new conditions and our ability to turn problems into opportunities have yielded positive results: tax payments are increasing.
