Training in Top risks: Metinvest Polytechnic improves safety at industrial sites

Metinvest Polytechnic continues to implement innovative approaches to health and safety training, helping manufacturing facilities minimise industrial risks. A series of two-day training sessions for line managers, focused on safe work practices related to railway transport, was held at Kamet Steel. The programme included reviews of real-world shopfloor cases, assessments of critical risks, and examples of injury prevention. As an important component of the production process at steel plants, railway transport presents a heightened exposure to hazards. Poor work management, violations of technical regulations, and human error can all lead to accidents. That's why the training focused on practical aspects of safety: participants reviewed real-world cases, simulated critical situations, and looked for effective solutions to mitigate risks.Nataliia Volodchenkova, Dean of the Mining and Metallurgy Faculty at Metinvest Polytechnic, notes that modern occupational health and safety standards

How steelworker from Zaporizhzhia cleared important route in Pokrovsk sector

The courage and professionalism of Zaporizhstal employee Andrii Dmytrenko helped unblock an important route. Before the full-scale war, Andrii, a native of Zaporizhzhia, had tried his hand at many jobs – working as a fitter, driver, steelworker, and more. Like most Ukrainians, he lived his life, worked, and raised his children. Andrii never dreamed of heroic deeds or glory on the battlefield, and nothing in his life hinted at the fact that this humble worker would one day become a warrior. Today, he serves as a tank mechanic-driver in the 15th “Kara-Dag” National Guard Brigade under the call sign "Dog".It took perseverance and ingenuity to go to the frontlineAndrii Dmytrenko tried his hand at various jobs – working as a bus driver and, since 2017, as an employee of the mold train preparation shop at Zaporizhstal. His life was completely changed when Russia invaded Ukraine."It is ordinary Ukrainians like Andrii who have become the real heroes of this war, proving that one does not need

Metinvest Polytechnic and Dnipro City Council Combine Efforts to Develop Higher and Vocational Education
