Kamet Steel has completed a major overhaul of Boiler No. 6 in the boiler shop of the steelworks' combined heat and power plant, ensuring its reliable operation for consistent steam supply to the plant.Medium-pressure boiler unit No. 6, with a nameplate capacity of 90 tonnes of steam per hour, produces steam for Kamet Steel's production needs.The main focus of the overhaul was on restoring worn-out components, whose gradual failure had led to a decline in the unit's efficiency. To begin with, all metal heating surfaces of the boiler – such as water tubes, headers of the platen and convective superheaters, burner, and air heater – were replaced.
