The second group of apprentices is about to complete their on-site training. Among the apprentices are both enterprise employees and those who aspire to get employed after their education. Next week, future crane operators will start their internship under the supervision of experienced mentors.
Prior to her apprenticeship, Valeria SEMENCHENKO worked in the motor transport department at Zaporizhstal for about three years as a washing machine operator. Today, Valeria is acquiring essential knowledge and skills to become a crane operator.
"When I found out about this training, I almost immediately decided to take advantage of the opportunity to change my profession and increase my income," says Valeria. "Currently, I am undergoing an internship in the hot rolling shop, where experienced employees guide me. I mainly watch how they work, make notes, and get accustomed a little bit. Next week, I will try to operate a crane, although under the supervision of a mentor.
There are seven people in the second group who aspire to master the job of a crane operator. Among them are not only Zaporizhstal employees who are retrained to change their occupation within the enterprise, but also people from Zaporizhzhia from different industries and enterprises. They have come to obtain skills to work at one of the largest metallurgical enterprises in Ukraine."
Olena SOLOVAROVA changed her career from healthcare to metallurgy, and today she is also undergoing an internship in the hot rolling shop.
"One day I decided to radically change my life. I quit my job in a private medical clinic where I had worked for a quite long time, and I joined Zaporizhstal. Now, I realize that I made the right choice," says Olena. "Since the beginning of the full-scale war, conditions at my previous workplace became worse and earnings decreased. So, when I saw an announcement on enrolment for training, I responded immediately.”
