Employees of Metinvest's Integrated GOK improved their first aid skills

The second stage of first aid training was held in Kryvyi Rih for employees of Metinvest's Iron Ore Enrichment Works. The employees, being a part of pre-medical care teams, reviewed and solidified their previous knowledge and studied their skills in rescuing the injured.

It is worth reminding that the first stage of training for GOK employees was conducted by experts of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine in the summer of this year Back then, 513 employees learned life-saving skills. In October, 342 employees, who are part of pre-medical care teams of their shops, improved their knowledge.

At the seminars, employees discussed the theory and focused on developing practical algorithms and adjusting their actions in potential critical situations. They improved their current skills using special manikins and simulators to model scenarios that may arise at work, at home, or because of hostile shelling - starting from heart attacks and loss of consciousness to severe polytrauma.

"If you do not repeat and occasionally apply the skills, you'll forget it It is common knowledge," said Maksym SOVENKO, chief specialist of Health and Safety Directorate of Metinvest's GOKs. "In addition, we should remember that in an emergency situation, a person may become confused and fail to remember what to do and in what sequence. Additional training will help to recall and rehearse the action algorithms once again so that the knowledge of miners is at a high level, and, in case of an emergency, they can help the injured before the arrival of the medical staff.

It should be recalled that pre-medical care teams were formed in every structural subdivision of Metinvest's enterprises in Kryvyi Rih. Employees who have been trained by the Red Cross can be recognised by a special sticker on their helmets – a white cross on a green background.
