The priorities for joint work in 2026 were outlined in a memorandum of cooperation signed by Metinvest’s Consolidated Iron Ore, the Karpivska Village Council, and the NGO “Kryvyi Rih Foundation for the Future”, which will act as coordinator in the implementation of projects supporting and developing Karpivska community.
According to the signed document, the key areas of focus for this year will be water supply, the development of social infrastructure, and ongoing support for the community.
“For many years, Metinvest has remained a reliable partner for Karpivka community. We have been formalising our joint work in memoranda since 2019; in reality, however, our cooperation goes back many more years. Throughout this entire period, together with the leadership of the village council, we have been discussing and implementing precisely those projects for which there is a need. At present, this involves stabilising the water supply situation and, more broadly, creating comfortable living conditions for residents across all the villages of the community,” noted Ihor TONIEV, General Director of Metinvest’s Consolidated Iron Ore.

Over the years of partnership, much has been achieved – repairs have been carried out on critical sections of inter-village roads, the roof of the Karpivka outpatient clinic has undergone a major overhaul, and boreholes equipped with water purification stations have been installed in the village of Shyroka Dacha and Radevycheve, and safe educational spaces have been created in the lyceum and kindergarten in the village of Karpivka, as well as in Andriivskyi Lyceum. Assistance is being provided to internally displaced Ukrainians.
Among this year’s projects are the reconstruction of a gas boiler house with the introduction of energy-efficiency measures in the village of Karpivka, a major roof overhaul at Andriivskyi Lyceum, and the establishment of temporary sites for the collection of solid household waste.
“We are grateful to our partners – Metinvest’s Iron Ores – that even during the war and in an extremely challenging economic period, we continue this important cooperation, are able to plan for the future, and can rely on addressing the community’s key needs. And thanks to the work of the Kryvyi Rih Foundation for the Future, the projects are being implemented in a systematic manner and in line with the plans. This gives us a solid foundation for joint work aimed at socio-economic development and supporting the infrastructure of our communities,” emphasised Stepan OLIINYKOV, Head of the Karpivka Village Council.

Another area of focus is water supply. The residents of the villages of Zelenyi Hai, Mohylivka, Karpivka, Vyshneve and Tsvitkove will continue to receive drinking water free of charge. In addition, work is planned to increase the number of users connected to the water supply system in the village of Andriivka. Other initiatives will also be implemented over the course of the year, including the clearance of illegal dumping sites and the provision of specialised equipment to support the community as needed.
“Our non-governmental organisation has considerable experience in implementing infrastructural and social initiatives and programmes.” For our part, we will continue to ensure coordination of processes and oversight of the progress of the works, so that all declared projects are implemented to a high standard and in full,” noted Olena LESHCHENKO, Director of the NGO “Kryvyi Rih Foundation for the Future.”
