In order to preserve the equipment that operated at Avdiivka Coke, it was decided to move it to safer regions and put it to work at other Metinvest assets.
Eight vehicles evacuated from Avdiivka have joined Zaporizhstal's fleet. First and foremost, it is heavy machinery - a hydraulic lift, a tractor, forklifts, a tractor-excavator, as well as a truck-mounted crane and dump trucks.
- Some of the equipment has arrived in a rather poor condition. The cars were damaged during the shelling, they were cut by shrapnel and had broken windows. They are currently being repaired, so not all of them have been put to work yet," said Yevgen Zyuzin, Head of Road Transport Department.
Currently, the hydraulic lift is used at PJSC "Zaporizhcoke" for repair work at height. Another machine - a 3.5-ton forklift - is in Hot Rolling Shop and will be used to move refractories during the repair of soaking pits. The second such forklift is being prepared to start handling operations in Production Preparation Department. The tractor will be involved in the transportation of cargoes required for the maintenance of the plant's equipment. Also, one of the BelAZ trucks already works in Slag Processing Shop at the dumps.
– We plan to have all the commissioning works completed by the end of the winter, so the vehicles will be fully operational and will help Zaporizhstal employees to perform their work tasks," added Yevgen Zyuzin.
