Employees across various departments at Central Iron Ore have completed comprehensive drill training on responding to war-related emergencies.
The drill aimed to test and improve employees' preparedness for crisis situations. The focus was on coordinating various departments and subdivisions during an emergency, administering first aid, extinguishing fires, responding to the detection of explosive or suspicious objects, and dealing with utilities supply outages.
The training involved over 30 employees from various departments and functions at Central Iron Ore, including the Slurry Facilities Shop, Mains and Substations Shop, Technical Power Shop of the pelletising and beneficiation plants, and the dispatcher service. Additionally, the enterprise’s first responders, including members of the militarised fire brigade, medical staff from MEDIKOM, the medical service, and security guards, participated in the drill.
The Emergency Response Headquarters, led by Igor Tonyev, CEO of Metinvest's mining and processing plants, and comprising managers of the Consolidated Iron Ore, was instrumental in the training. The headquarters coordinated efforts between all enterprise subdivisions and external services, ensuring an effective response to evolving situations and prompt decision-making.
Overall, employees demonstrated a high level of preparedness and coordination. All participants adhered to the rules and practiced the protocols approved for wartime emergencies.
