Metinvest Polytechnic, together with Metinvest Group, is launching a large-scale pilot project - student internships at the Group's foreign enterprises. In particular, students will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained at the university during internships at Metinvest Polska (Katowice) and Promet Steel (Burgas). The criteria to qualify for the competitive selection process for the internships are academic excellence, achievements in research, participation in community projects, and an adequate level of English language proficiency.
The first to be selected for the pilot project for a summer internship will be students of the bachelor's degree programmes "Value-Based Business Management" and "Environmental Protection Technologies". Students of the master's programmes "Business Processes and Operational Efficiency", "Project Management of Changes in the Mining and Metals Business", "Modern Rolling Technologies", "Occupational Safety Audit and Consulting", and "Innovative Technologies and Environmental Protection Systems" will be selected for a pre-diploma internship in autumn.
The competitive selection is a two-step process: assessment of the level of English language proficiency and assessment of contenders' profile and motivation video. Aside from the university's management and lecturers, the internship committee will include HR managers of the companies, at which the internship will take place, as well as heads of academic councils for different educational areas. Metinvest Group fully covers the costs associated with the internships.
"First of all, I would like to emphasise that participation in this project is a unique chance to learn from international experience in your chosen professional field. The internships will allow students to acquire cross-cultural communication skills and learn about the specifics of setting and solving production tasks in other business cultures. Furthermore, they will enrich not only our own professional background, but will also allow us to apply the best European practices for the development of Ukrainian industry," said Konstantyn MOISEYENKO, Head of the Department for International Cooperation and Projects at Metinvest Polytechnic.
Applications from students of bachelor's degree programmes (as listed above) for participation in the international internship are accepted until 19 April. Master's students can apply for the autumn international internship until 1 June. You can find out more about the conditions of participation on the university's website, send a personal message in Teams to Konstantyn Moiseyenko, or send an email at Konstantin.Moiseenko@mipolytech.education.
As a reminder, this year, Metinvest Polytechnic, a mining and metals university, has had its first graduates in modern engineering disciplines. 143 master's graduates have received diplomas that allow them to get a job at any enterprise in the world and Ukraine. All study programmes are accredited by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.
