Training on effective team interaction under modern challenges was carried out for young employees from Integrated Iron Ore Plants, Metinvest Business Services, and Metinvest Machinery. Twenty-five employees of Metinvest's enterprises took part in the event.
The key question of the training was how to preserve unity, productivity, and humanity during the war and after it. Participants discussed the transformation of teamwork in the Ukrainian environment, advantages of different interaction formats, and practical methods for improving communication. They also discussed real business cases of enterprises that have adapted to crisis conditions.
"Since February 2022, Ukrainian teams have found themselves in conditions that no textbook could prepare them for," noted Viktoria IVLIEVA, Lead HR Specialist of Metinvest Business Service. "At the same time, those challenges became triggers for profound changes in the way people work together. Teams became geographically scattered. The business has been implementing digital tools for process management more actively in order to ensure remote and hybrid formats of work. In contrast, the constant threat has started to shape a new level of trust and support within teams. Employees have redefined their life principles and values; teams have learned how to focus on the most important things, strengthening strategic thinking and improving work efficiency.
The training participants analysed how the interaction within teams in the Ukrainian business environment has changed over the past years, talking about the emergence of hybrid teams, new leadership models, and strengthened empathy and mutual support as important parts of corporate culture.
A separate training topic was the comparison between offline and remote interaction. Young people concluded that the most efficient teams work in a hybrid format – face-to-face meetings are used for strategic purposes, team-building and building trust, while remote formats are used for daily operational tasks.

Participants received practical recommendations that can be applied immediately: regular team-building techniques, a feedback culture, and encouragement of creative ideas, etc. Tools for fostering psychological safety within teams were also discussed.
During a practical part of the training event and MindMap session, young employees discussed how each of them could positively influence the team atmosphere and strengthen interaction in youth communities.
Summing up, the participants highlighted that effective team interaction is an important element of business resilience, which helps to support people, teams, and the country in general.
"The training event was practical and necessary. Especially valuable was the discussion of how we can support team interaction amid constant changes and uncertainty. Many methods and techniques demonstrated to us can be implemented," shared Yana PIDTERHERIA, an engineer of Central Iron Ore.
