Metinvest to Kamianske: first steps in implementing the Memorandum of Cooperation

The departments of the city's hospitals, which were the first to be renovated as part of the Memorandum of Cooperation in Social and Economic Development signed between Metinvest Group and the Kamianske City Council, have started operating in Kamianske.

It has become a good tradition in Kamianske to celebrate the City Day by launching socially important facilities after their repair or reconstruction. This tradition has not been broken in difficult times of the war, especially when the city has such reliable social partners as Kamet-Steel and Metinvest Group. Recently, the city's largest hospitals - No. 9 and the ambulance service - have reopened the departments after major repairs, which were co-financed by Metinvest under an existing agreement with the city community.

In May, Metinvest Group signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Social and Economic Development with the Kamianske City Council, under which the community will receive UAH 50 million from Metinvest in 2024-2025 to implement socially significant projects in the city. In particular, to co-finance the reconstruction of three hospitals: No. 9, the ambulance service and the primary healthcare centre No. 3. In addition, the latter two hospitals will undergo major overhauls to their civil defence facilities with Metinvest's support, and a new bomb shelter will be built in Lyceum No. 22 to meet modern standards.

In July, the company allocated the first tranche to support the city, and in September, Kamianske received the second tranche. The money was used to co-finance the overhaul of the 30-bed trauma unit at the city hospital No. 9 and the clinical diagnostic laboratory at the emergency hospital. Now the hospital has modern and cosy wards, new medical equipment and decent conditions for patients and doctors and medical staff. All of this was witnessed by Oleksandr TRETIAKOV, General Director of Kamet-Steel, during a visit to the renovated facilities together with Kamianske Mayor Andrii Belousov, who sincerely thanked Kamet-Steel and Metinvest Group for their reliable partnership and for the funds provided to co-finance socially important projects for the city.

Oleksandr TRETIAKOV, General Director of Kamet-Steel:

"Kamianske is a strong city of strong people, and our mission now is to help the city council and citizens become even stronger. I visited the hospitals not so much to monitor the progress of the work as to make sure once again that our cooperation with mayor Andrii Belousov is making the life of the Kamianske community safer in this difficult time for the country. Supporting the army and helping the cities where Metinvest Group's enterprises are located is a top priority for Metinvest Group today. And, of course, the company's employees are always in the focus of our attention. Therefore, socially important projects implemented through joint efforts are the best greetings to Kamianske and its residents on the City Day. Together we will stand and win!
