In 2024, a memorandum of cooperation once again established partnership obligations between Metinvest's Northern and Central GOK, Gleiuvatka Village Council and NGO "Kryvyi Rih Foundation For The Future". One of the main vectors of work this year was to improve the condition of roads between the community's settlements.
The poor condition of the asphalt road surface in rural areas or its complete absence is a major problem for many Ukrainian communities. The same situation has arisen in the Gleiuvatka community, where a 4,000 m² section of the road between the Novoivanivka and Nedaivoda villages was in urgent need of repair. This urgent issue was resolved through close cooperation between the community and Metinvest's enterprises under a memorandum signed this year. Under the coordination of NGO "Kryvyi Rih Foundation For The Future," patching and continuous laying of asphalt-concrete mix were carried out on the designated section of the road in a short time.
"It was very important for us to put this particular section of the road in order as it runs along the main social institutions of the community: a school, a kindergarten, a family medicine outpatient clinic, and the administrative building of the Nedaivoda elder's district. "This is the only road that our residents and IDPs, almost two thousand people in total, can use to get to the necessary infrastructure and to take the bus #441 to Kryvyi Rih," said Dmytro GURIEIEV, First Deputy Head of Gleiuvatka village council.
To implement the measures set out in the memorandum, Metinvest will also support the improvement of the territory near the general practice outpatient clinic in Nedaivoda village, including the construction of access roads, parking spaces, and sidewalks. The company also plans to reconstruct the roofs of the kindergarten in Chervone village and the gymnasium in Zelene Pole village. The mining companies will also help to solve the issue of water supply to the community, including drinking water.
Metinvest's mining companies have been providing partnership support to the Gleiuvatka community for over five years. During this time, we have implemented many projects that are useful to the community. These included repairs to educational institutions, opening of modern outpatient clinics, a police office, and assistance in purchasing social and service vehicles. Even during the war in the country, we did not abandon our commitments and found an opportunity to help resolve issues important to the community", said Igor TONIEV, General Director of Metinvest Group's United GOK.
Last year, Kryvyi Rih enterprises of Metinvest financed projects in the Gleiuvatka community to provide modern medical equipment to the outpatient clinic in Chervone village and reconstruct a water pumping station in Zelene Pole village, which significantly improved the quality of the local residents life.
