For 86 years, the traditions of dedication and hard work have thrived in Zaporizhstal's hot rolling shop and are being passed from generation to generation.
Operators of the mill control room, mill operators, stackers and packers, as well as maintenance fitters – they all work toward a common goal, which is to produce high-quality Zaporizhstal products. Today, the division’s team celebrates its 86th anniversary.
"Today, I would like to once again thank every man and woman who works in the hot rolling shop. Each team puts maximum efforts to produce high-quality rolled products and ship competitive products known worldwide to our customers. I am sure that our strength lies in our unity, and our professionalism has no limits. I sincerely congratulate the team of the hot rolling shop on the 86th anniversary of the division's founding!" noted Semen SVYRYDOV, the hot rolling shop manager.
Today, more than a hundred employees work in the hot rolling shop, 153 of them currently serve in the army, defending our country. Mykola Tkachenko, a defender and the operator of the control room, has returned to his shop and team after fierce fighting at the front.
Mykola Tkachenko has not regretted a single day that he chose the path of the steelworker. Mykola is sure that working at Zaporizhstal means not only a stable salary and a social package but also development opportunities for young specialists.
"My team is my family. We have always been united, even before the full-scale war, and when I returned to work from the front, I also felt tremendous support. Given the financial performance, our team is one of the best, and we will continue to keep this bar high," says Mykola TKACHENKO.
Following the temporary occupation of Metinvest's enterprises in Mariupol, specialists of the hot rolling shop have started actively working on developing the products that used to be manufactured at MMKI and Azovstal. As of now, the business unit produces commercial slabs of various grades and sizes and rolls 6 meters plates with a thickness range of 10-100 mm on the continuous sheet rolling mill 1680.
Furthermore, employees are constantly working on reducing the production costs. The hot rolling shop make a significant contribution to enterprise's team result in terms of operational efficiency. Workers are sure that major achievements lie ahead.
"We achieve good results, and almost every month our shop proves its top performance. And we are definitely not going to set the bar any lower. Together, we work to show the best results and support the economy of Ukraine with our work. We do this because we know that the work of steelmakers brings victory closer!" added a hot rolling shop operator Dmytro LIASHENKO.
