Residents of Avdiivka are receiving humanitarian aid as part of the Saving Lives project, which Metinvest Group is implementing in coordination with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. Recently, Avdiivka Coke employees delivered humanitarian aid to remote areas of the old part of the town.
Currently, there are continuous battles in Avdiivka. There is not a single surviving building in the town; the enemy does not stop hitting civilian homes and infrastructure every hour. Despite the calls from the authorities to evacuate, about 2,000 people still remain in the town. Several families live in the private sector of Avdiivka, the so-called "old part of the town", which is located in close proximity to the occupied territory. Not every volunteer is emboldened to deliver aid there. After all, open territory is constantly attacked by Russian invaders. Therefore, with a great desire to help those who need it most, the coke plant employees have delivered food packages to the old part of the town.
"It is very dangerous for civilians to stay in the town today. The only correct solution is evacuation which is carried out together with the military administration and volunteers. Unfortunately, of those who remain, few people are ready to leave their homes. We cannot leave them without help, no matter what. After all, Avdiivka residents know that Metinvest and Avdiivka Coke Plant have always been a support for the town. And while there is a possibility, we continue to deliver essential items and products. Avdiivka residents' gratitude and their eyes, full of hope, give strength to work further", noted Yuryi KTSYNENKO, Acting General Director of Avdiivka Coke Plant of Metinvest Group.
Earlier it was reported that employees of Avdiivka Coke Plant delivered six tonnes of products to the town's shelters.
