The Transport Directorate of Metinvest Pokrovsk Coal held an award ceremony for the winners of the Health and Safety in the Eyes of Children contest. After a year's break, the children of the company's employees took part in the all-Ukrainian children's drawing competition.
- This time there were much fewer participants than usual due to the war. But the drawings submitted by our children are very talented. I want to express my gratitude to everyone for their active participation. If children continue to draw in such difficult times, it means that our people will not be defeated, - Sergiy Bida, Health and Safety Director at Metinvest Pokrovsk Coal, said, addressing the contestants and their parents.
Vanya TRUSHLIAKOV, 8 years old (father - Sergiy Trushliakov, bulldozer driver at AK #4):
- I drew a bulldozer on the spoil heap where my dad works. I love him very much and want him to be safe at all times. In general, drawing is my favourite activity. When I have free time, I draw airplanes, cars, and helicopters because I like big machinery. Maybe in the future I will become a bulldozer driver like my dad. But I haven't decided yet.
Alina LUCHANINOVA, 13 years old (father is Andriy Luchaninov, driver of AK #1):
- This is my second time participating in the contest. This time, I prepared a humorous work that hints to workers that they should follow safety rules at work, take care of themselves and their lives, because children need adults. I am very glad that my drawing won the prize. It was unexpected, but nice.
Illia GORBUNOV, 15 years old (father - Anton Gorbunov, driver of AK #1):
- I got the idea for the contest from a neighbour who repairs an old car in the garage behind our house. But he doesn't know about it. I just watched the man do it, using various dangerous tools. I thought it was a good idea to remind adults that they shouldn't do this. This creative approach brought me the victory.
