Responsible parents mean happy children

The Transport Directorate of Metinvest Pokrovsk Coal held an award ceremony for the winners of the Health and Safety in the Eyes of Children contest. After a year's break, the children of the company's employees took part in the all-Ukrainian children's drawing competition.

- This time there were much fewer participants than usual due to the war. But the drawings submitted by our children are very talented. I want to express my gratitude to everyone for their active participation. If children continue to draw in such difficult times, it means that our people will not be defeated, - Sergiy Bida, Health and Safety Director at Metinvest Pokrovsk Coal, said, addressing the contestants and their parents.

The adults themselves also missed positive emotions, so a competent jury of almost all the company's employees was involved in evaluating the creative works. During the week, the committee reviewed nearly thirty drawings and gave them points. Based on the results of the voting, the winners were selected and invited to a gala event to receive their gifts.

The winners of the competition received a wireless gamepad, virtual reality glasses, and headphones for the first, second, and third places, respectively. But none of the children left without a gift. Other participants were given incentive prizes, such as a 32GB flash drive, puzzles Historical Map of Ukraine, Map of Europe, and Flora and Fauna of Ukraine. In addition, everyone received bags of sweets.

- One of the company's priorities is to comply with health and safety requirements and road safety rules. Therefore, we invited all employees to participate in the competition. Since the number of prizes is limited, we decided to award all participants. I am very grateful to parents and children for promoting occupational health and safety - Denys ACHKASOV, Director of the Transport Directorate of Metinvest Pokrovsk Coal.

Next, the children's drawings will go to the regional stage of the competition. Sergiy Bida is sure that there will be winners among them. Because the works really impress not only with their good execution, but also with a creative approach to the semantic meaning. Because the main message of the competition is to remind parents about safety rules at work.

Vanya TRUSHLIAKOV, 8 years old (father - Sergiy Trushliakov, bulldozer driver at AK #4):

- I drew a bulldozer on the spoil heap where my dad works. I love him very much and want him to be safe at all times. In general, drawing is my favourite activity. When I have free time, I draw airplanes, cars, and helicopters because I like big machinery. Maybe in the future I will become a bulldozer driver like my dad. But I haven't decided yet.

Alina LUCHANINOVA, 13 years old (father is Andriy Luchaninov, driver of AK #1):

- This is my second time participating in the contest. This time, I prepared a humorous work that hints to workers that they should follow safety rules at work, take care of themselves and their lives, because children need adults. I am very glad that my drawing won the prize. It was unexpected, but nice.

Illia GORBUNOV, 15 years old (father - Anton Gorbunov, driver of AK #1):

- I got the idea for the contest from a neighbour who repairs an old car in the garage behind our house. But he doesn't know about it. I just watched the man do it, using various dangerous tools. I thought it was a good idea to remind adults that they shouldn't do this. This creative approach brought me the victory.
