Displaced children from Ukrainian New York join charity event in New York (USA) to support the wounded

As part of the Saving Lives project, drawings by displaced children from Donetsk and other frontline regions of Ukraine became part of the Stand with Ukraine 365 event held in New York (USA). The children's works will be sold at a charity auction, and the proceeds will go to help people affected by the war in Ukraine.

For more than a year, Ukraine is bravely resisting its enemies. People, businesses and public organizations have united to win, and humanitarian projects and initiatives, including Saving Lives by Metinvest and Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, are working. Their activities often take place outside our country, because this is how the world can learn the truth about the war. International partnerships and events also help raise funds to help victims of russian aggression.

On the one-year anniversary of the full-scale invasion, world stars of ballet, opera, jazz, rock and classical music from around the world gathered at the Oceana Theater (New York, USA) for the Stand with Ukraine 365 charity concert. The event's honored guests were soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Mariupol defender Kateryna "Ptashka" Polishchuk also addressed the audience via video link.

Of particular note is the fact that the auction will feature drawings by displaced children from Ukrainian New York who are temporarily living in Metinvest's shelters. Children from the occupied and frontline cities Mariupol, Severodonetsk and Kamianske  also submitted their works. A total of 200 drawings were prepared for the charity initiative, and the 50 best ones were sent to the United States.

This is a very significant event, as the money from the sale of the drawings will, among other things, be used for the rehabilitation of 8-year-old Arina Malenkova from Kryvyi Rih, who suffered from a missile attack on December 16, 2022. The girl's mother is an employee of Metinvest Group's Central GOK. She was also seriously injured in the explosion. She and her daughter are still undergoing treatment. In total, they need about 20 thousand dollars for rehabilitation. Unfortunately, the family cannot find such funds on their own. In addition, the missile completely destroyed the Malenkovs' apartment. The children-artists sincerely hope that the money raised for their works will help Arina recover as soon as possible and return to a full life.

- The main objective of such events is to explain to the American audience that Ukraine needs help and support today no less than it did a year ago. As part of the events initiated by the Heart & Valor Foundation in the United States to mark the anniversary of the full-scale war, a charity auction will be held.  The auction will feature children's drawings, items sent by Ukrainian soldiers from the front, products by Ukrainian designers, and more. All the money raised from the charity events will be used to treat children and defenders of Ukraine, - Tetiana OVERINA, CEO of BLEU ET JAUNE consulting, said.

As a reminder, Saving Lives is a humanitarian project that Metinvest Group established in coordination with Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. Founded immediately after the outbreak of the war, it has grown into a powerful platform for helping Ukrainians over the year of its existence. Currently, Saving Lives has several areas of activity, covers almost 70 territorial communities in the country, and the number of people who have received assistance is steadily approaching half a million.
